A Living Model of Desert Restoration in Egypt
Habiba Organic Farm began in 2007 as a small effort to improve food security in Sinai and has grown into a leading organic farm in the region. The farm produces fresh organic vegetables, demonstrates sustainable farming and desert agriculture in Egypt, and now serves as a hands-on research center for permaculture in Sinai. It brings together Bedouin families, local growers, volunteers, and experts who learn from the land and from one another.
We grow seasonal organic vegetables using methods that restore soil health and support local food security in Nuweiba.
Our farm tests new ideas in desert agriculture and permaculture, sharing practical solutions with communities across Sinai.
What’s Happening at Our Farms
Our farms in Nuweiba are busy with soil restoration, organic planting, hands-on experimentation, and community training. Every day we work with the desert environment to grow healthy food, test new ideas, and create learning opportunities for locals and visitors.
- Restoration and regeneration
- Planting organic vegetables, fruit, and trees
- Experimentation with soils, irrigation, and plant varieties
- Training and volunteering in sustainable farming
Volunteers, visitors, and local growers all take part in planting, harvesting, and knowledge sharing. The farms continue to evolve as open spaces for learning, research, and community growth in the heart of Sinai.
